Stories from Your Wedding Friend - The Wedding Planner's Blog
Continuing my look at some of the best hotel wedding venues in Herts, Beds and Bucks, we're on to Bedfordshire. The variety of venues available in Bedfordshire is of course massive, but hotels will always be popular for hosting weddings, and these are popular for good reason…
Owned by the Elite Hotels chain this venue has been hosting 5-star weddings for a long time. It has the stunning Faberge room, which you really have to see to believe, as well as the more modest Warren Weir annex for larger wedding, which is away from the main mansion and therefore more private. All Luton Hoos spaces are traditionally stylish and surrounded by rambling grounds. It may fall towards the budget busting end of the market but for sheer grandeur it's worth every penny.
Gorgeous, traditional barn venue with bags of traditional charm and in a fabulous riverside location. The Barns Hotel caters for slightly smaller weddings and has a very traditional offer. It's biggest selling point really is the grounds, which are not massive but beautifully kept and perfect for pictures. Plus, you can add in a mini river cruise for a bit of peace and quiet on your big day, and some super special couple photos.
Some might call this a quirky hotel venue, it certainly has a strong hint of Italy about it, but it's a fun adaptable, modern space with a stage and huge bar area. Ideal for families and larger groups - use the whole space for a large wedding reception or leave one area divided off for a kids fun zone and still be able to accommodate a good sized guest list.
Okay this maybe stretching the 'hotel' bit, but it does have rooms for hire. Not a traditional hotel but a venue within Cranfield University with halls of residence that double as comfortable, clean and modern, hotel rooms for wedding guests. Venue spaces are smart, bright and well decorated. The hall itself has a fabulous front aspect and you're not too far from the countryside for those all-important photographs.
It may not be 5-star but this venue still has lots to offer, but I love that they have the spa and beauty treatments available for a proper pamper before your wedding. Although they're not licensed for civil ceremonies, you could still hold your own celebrant ceremony and wedding reception as usual, of course. The grounds and golf course make a marvellous back drop and perfectly placed for larger wedding receptions.
There are so many wonderful Bedfordshire hotel wedding venues to choose from and this is just a small sample of some of my favourites.
