Your Wedding Friend is ONE!

I can't believe it, but Christmas Eve 2018 marks the first birthday of Your Wedding Friend. As I look back over the year and plan for the year ahead, I thought I'd share some highlights with you.

The first big highlight, after the launch of my lovely website, was being introduced to some amazing people. I knew networking would be important for my business, but I never realised just how many fantastic opportunities would arise from meeting with all sorts of people in locations all over the area. The wedding industry especially has many amazing, supportive, brilliant people involved in it.

I secured some business development funding early in the year, which helped me expand my website to include this blog element (and further expansion is coming in 2019!). I've enjoyed creating blog posts more than I anticipated and the response has proven that it's an important area for me to grow further.

Of course, I've had many firsts this year, including my first events and my first weddings, which were amazing. I've learned a lot from each one and loved getting to know my lovely customers. As each one teaches me something else, I'm improving my packages, identifying what to change/what works, and planning better ways to keep you informed.

When you start a business, you believe you know what you need to know, but until you're in the midst of it you don't realise what you don't actually know. So, this year I've been through several training courses and read/watched a lot of experts sharing their knowledge. I'm planning for more training in 2019 but also aiming to use some of those experts to do more of the things I struggle with.

This first year has been about developing and understanding, of testing ideas, of pushing myself out of my comfort zone, so it's been scary at times but I'm very grateful for the support I've received along the way. I've run mini workshops, done my first talks, offered advice and support to other businesses, all of which seems to have been received well, so that's amazing.

But the main highlight of the year has been all the wonderful people (couples, suppliers, and networkers) that I've met and worked with. Your support this year has been fantastic. The ideas being generated by being around you are huge. There are so many exciting things I want to do in 2019, which is all thanks to you. So, Thank You for being on this ride with me and I hope we continue to enjoy it together.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy 2019! X
